What happened me and my two friends (UK police, ambulance)?

Try to think of this from the polices point of view; someone called the police and told them there were some drunks in the park or wherever so they show up and discover you 3. They decide to check to see how drunk you 3 really are and discover that your friends might be too drunk so the best course of action was to take you to the hospital and have someone keep an eye of you. They restrained you only because they didn't want you to leave until you were sober, the moment they realised you were all fine and had sobered up enough they kicked you out.
