How do I fix the whole in the bottom of my 40 gallon tank for cheap?

It didn't break. Someone cut it out because it is a perfect circle. I got it at a garage sale for oober cheap so I figured I would just fix it. I don't know how though. Any suggestions? I'm on a tight budget.
