Heartbroken re decision made?

My 18 year old son has had mental health issues for many years namely due to horriffic sexual abuse he suffered at the hands of his bioligical father & grandfather. Since he chose to file charges with the police, his biological father committed suicide, his grandfather was called to trial but the prosecutors felt there was not enough 'evidence' to take it to trial & in the publics best interest to withdraw all charges from the grandfather so he got off scott free. I have had my son in multiple private hospitals seeking the best of psychiatric care for the last two years since he left school. He is addicted to drugs, pain medication, marijuana, you name it. He has attempted suicide a multitude of times & last night was the final straw in that he terrified my 3 year old son (his step brother), myself & his step father by indicating we were at harm & to lock ourselves in our bedroom throughout the night, that he cut himself up with a knife across his arms & legs & my fiance had to wrestle a large carving knife from him. We had police come to the house, he had a seizure in front of them & the ambulance arrived to take him to hospital but he walked out of there today as our mental health system in Western Australia is pathetic, they release mental health patients at the drop of a hat. We have told him many times previously that we cannot keep putting up with him living under our roof with his addictions that he doesn't seem to want to address & he is scaring his little 3 year old brother so he has to move out. I am heartbroken telling my own child he is not welcome in our home. He told me today we don't care about him, we don't love him, we only love his little brother, he is our only son & he is going to kill himself & we will have his blood on our hands. I have for years tried so many hospitals, psychs, taken so much time off work jeopardising my job trying to help him, I recently secured him a job & we thought things were going well but he took days off on drug induced illness. I can't help but feel guilty about our decision to have him look for crisis accommodation. I have tried to intervene & help him do this today but he told me to stay out of his life. I feel like I'm a terrible mother & have let my own flesh & blood down.

What to do for an abusive father? (very long)?

Basically my father has abused both me, my mom, my grandma and when he was younger, my brother for as long as I can remember. When I was little I would get severe beatings and sometimes I would be forced to sleep outside. My dad would also threaten me on an almost daily basis that he was going to kick me out on the street and that I would be raped, tortured, killed, etc. and when I was younger he convinced me that he was my sole protector and the beatings were for my own good and that he loved me. He also tried to turn me into a homophobic, racist, religious zealot. Now that I'm older and I no longer take crap from him he doesn't try to get me to sleep in the yard or anything of that sorts but still spends the better part of our time together yelling at me and trying to convince me that I am worthless. He also has this control over my mother. My mom is usually very kind, forgiving, compassionate, etc. but if for whatever reason he gets angry at anything my mom even if she totally disagrees will start to mirror the outrage. He also yells at her all the time for the slightest things, for example if the large 5 course dinner she served him after working all the day was too hot, or if it is too cold, or if it is the perfect temperature that it tastes like crap. It has gotten so bad that she now has blood pressure and heart problems, all stress related. He used to occasionally beat her as well but now that I got older and could protect my mother he doesn't anymore to my knowledge. Furthermore he makes her take several buses to get to work (which is our tortilla bread shop) where she spends over 10 hours both cooking and working the cash register, all with no heat or air conditioning. On top of this she has to come home and do all the cooking and cleaning the house until it's spotless etc. while he spends his day sitting on his ***. I do as much work as I can and sometimes spend all nighters so that my mom can get some rest but I have school and I try to spend as little time home as possible, b/c of how bad my dad gets. And my mom has to give every penny she makes to my father and when I was younger and my bank account was still connected to my parents', he emptied out all my savings (11,200) and tried to get me to drop out of school so that I would work at the shop. Once I stood up to him and the fight got so bad my mom had a heart attack right there and he refused to let me call an ambulance and disconnected the phone. But then after a fight with him I got his cellphone and called the police and when they showed up he put all the blame on me saying that I yelled at my mom until she collapsed. My brother is also starting to act like him and b/c he strokes my dad's ego, my dad spends all the money my mom earns on him and doesn't make him do any work, even though he is 25. The worst part of this however is that my mom refuses to get the police or anyone involved. She also knows that he doesn't love her but she says she still can't leave him and once when I was about to call the police after my dad tried to throw my grandma (his mother) down the stairs my mom started crying and pleaded with me not to. Therefore I do not know what to do. I am convinced if I didn't live here my dad would have killed my mom and grandma along time ago. And no matter how much I try to talk with my dad and get him to change his attitude he just gets worse. Getting physical is also not an option b/c it would be me and against both my dad and my brother and my mom would probably get another heart attack out of it. So my main question is should I involve the police even though both my mom and grandma do not want them involved and if not what should I do?

Hi. Ragdolls are so expensive because, as you say, they are pedigree. Breeders spend a lot of money producing pedigree kittens, including vet's bills (for injections, etc.), registering them as a pedigree so you get a certificate, maybe even testing potential parents to make sure they don't have any genetic defect, etc. Also there is the cost of advertising. The kittens do however usually come with a one/two month free insurance policy. Also in some cases, they will have had to pay a fee for introducing their female to a stud pedigree cat. In fact, despite some people's beliefs, breeders don't earn much money when selling their kittens because of the initial outlay, and sometimes just about break even. Basically, there are a lot of costs involved and they have to recoup their money by charging a lot for the kittens. Ragdolls in particular are expensive because they are not as freely available as other pedigree cats, i.e. Siamese.

I don't think they are allowed to help them. They would have to call for another ambulance to come to the scene. Things with the emergency services are a bit messed up. There was an incident on a bus I was on once. The incident happened when we were stopped right outside a police station but nobody in the police station could help the bus driver had to actually phone 999 for somebody to come out the front door ha ha madness.

I am a 15 year old girl. I'm 5'6 and a half (can't forget the half!!) and weight 121 pounds at the moment, but sometimes range all the way up to 126 on a bad day. No; I do NOT think I am fat! How to start an interfacility transfer between hospitals? (Transfer patient hospitals)?

I need to move my mother to a different hospital but I dont know what my options are. If you're quite far from the hospital, better arrange your own transport so as not to waste time (except maybe if the ambulance is parked somewhere near your place). If the baby's head is not yet out and you have a written letter from your wife's obstetrician, go directly to the delivery room/dept and hand the letter in one of the nurse's there so that they can contact the OB. However, if the head is already coming out, head straight to the ER. At least this is what we do in our country that is still developing...

Okay so about 2 days ago i tried to have an overdose on pills, not really intentionally to kills myself but that i didn't know what i was doing if you understand? so luckily at the hospital i was okay no damage to my liver or anything. She said i did it just to get out of exams which is NOT true but she wouldn't listen she just said how she never wants to looks at me again or even help me with school again. and it made me cry alot because shes Always the supportive one and she didn't even care, that i could of died or ask if iw as okay, she just kept yelling at me. What am i suppose to do? Why is she acting like that? i know i did something stupid and regret it but still. Its the Summer and now i have that on my back. Do ambulances bring you to the hospital if you're experiencing your first panic attack?

If you were never diagnosed(or whatever the word is lol) with anxiety disorders and you had your first panic attack and you didn't know what was happening so you called 911, would they take you to the hospital? I've heard tons of stories saying how doctors don't take panic attacks seriously and stuff like that, but would the paramedics bring you to the hospital anyways?? Medically, there is really nothing you can do to stop a panic attack besides like pills and stuff right? Would you have to go to a doctor immediately either way to know that you probably have anxiety disorders?? Or would the paramedics just like calm you down and then leave??

Really really weird dream need help interpreting it?

I had this dream a couple weaks ago, but it's still fresh in my memory. When I dreamt it, it was as though it was really happening. I had dreamt that I was at the bus stop and there was a man in a body bag. He was squirming and suffocating, trying to call for help, but was too weak to do so. We (everyone at the bus stop) all had gathered around and were wanting to open it for him, but were too afraid to do so. We were too afraid of what we would see. Then someone had called 9-11 and an ambulance came by. They opened it and as they were opening it, the man inside was saying: "Please amputate me." Which is strange, because his legs were chopped off and metals poles were put in their place. A note was left - and in that note, the man who had committed this act talked about how he, the man writing, was black and becuase he was black, he was born as the wretched of the earth and had no hope for money, that his existence was doomed from the beginning. The man in the body bag was someone who interviewed the black guy, but ultimately did not hire the black guy. So, the black guy was frustrated and did that to the guy in the body bag as an act of rebellion against God. Really really strange.

Property sold/30 days to get out?

We are asking for my niece's mom. Her and her bf were renting a house, had a year lease. The property sold and they were given 30 days to get out. What if they can't find a place? I got into a bad car accident and was rushed off to the hospital can I sue?

I got into a car accident because of a defective feature on the car. I blacked out during most of it, but I remember hitting my head but Im not sure what I hit it on. The airbags did not go off so it is assumed that I hit my head on the steering wheel. The car is a brand new 2011 Dodge Challenger and NOTHING should have been wrong with the car at all (One of the wheels just popped off after an episode of violent shaking). My 4 year old son and I were rushed off to the hospital in an ambulance. My son was checked out first and they said there was absolutely nothing wrong with him (according to paramedics the car seat was strapped down so well, that it didnt even move during the whole ordeal). I, on the other hand, had a concussion and severe case of whiplash (thank god for seatbelts). I was pretty lucky considering the extent of the damage. Anyways, while I was at the hospital recovering, the officer who was at the scene of my accident came in and handed me a citation for something like having an unsafe vehilce (stupid) and a ticket for a suspended license. I had no idea my license was suspended and had no reason to think I did because a couple weeks earlier I had been at a road block and the ran my name in the system because I didnt have my license on me. They told me I had a warrant for an FTA on a speeding ticket, but that was all. They didnt say anything a bout a suspended license and they let me go. I called the DMV and they said my license has been suspended since January of this year!!! So I was shocked to hear that because I hadnt received any mail letting me know anything about..... ANYTHING. I was planning on getting a lawyer and suing Dodge for the defective car they sold me and they damages done to my neck and head and emotional blah blah (you know the works). But will this license suspension be a big issue? How much does it affect the case since I didnt receive any letters about the suspension and the whole road block issue with nobody telling me my license was suspended. And if my license was suspended since the begining of January and I bought the car (and insurance) in April, how come the suspension didnt show up then? Im confused.... Please help

A few weeks ago I was rushed to the hospital via ambulance because my heart stopped and was beating extraordinarly fast. The er staff had to give me some heart medicine to slow my heart rate. I had taken xanax, adderall, and smoked pot. I am fairly sure the pot had hydro in it. What happened do you think? I had a seizure too.

She might have fluid because she's had a cyst rupture, for example, or because she has endometriosis. But at this point, the specialist she will see is I'm sure a gynecologic oncologist, and s/he'll be able to make a better determination. Your sister needs to be followed by a gyn-onc from now on to check for recurrences. The heavy bleeding you've described doesn't sound to me like an ovarian cancer symptom, though it sounds more like a uterine problem, and it could be something benign. I know this waiting is a real nightmare. Good luck!

Does it sound like I have anxiety?

I was suicidal last year and one day i was severely depressed then I lightly punched myself in the throat. When I punched it, it sent my adams apple (or whatever you call it idk what it really is) back a little bit. It really scared me then I got very dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out. It felt like a panic attack. After I punched it I could talk fine and breathe but I felt like I couldn't. A week afterwards I had a panic attack according to my parents. It was so bad I was pacing the floors and talking very fast. They took me to the hospital and they said my heart rate was very high and they did CAT scans and they took blood tests. They all came back normal then they sent me to another hospital by ambulance and they kept me for a night. They said everything was fine the next day and i got to go home. I went to a heart dr because they think i have tachycardia. They heart dr gave me a ultrasound of my heart and he said it was fine. They diangnosed me with anxiety and gave me medication for it. The medication worked a little bit but the side effects scared me and I still got some panic attacks. A month later I stopped takeing them because I was getting a sour stomach and It scared me. Since then I had a couple panic attacks and they only occur at night. What sets them off is every pain or weird feeling I get and I keep thinking I'm going to die from it. A week ago my mom made me take my medication again without drs permission then I got hot flashes and they scared me so I had a panic attack. Im fighting them back and since I have been feeling very weird. My heart is racing then I start sweating. I have a horrible fear of death and I so scared of dying I'm 15 years old and Im wondering if its all in my head because my parents get agitated by me having panic attacks from nothing and worrying about dying. Its horrible and Im so scared of it. Some people have told me I should go back on my medication but I'm afraid to take them. When I have a cold and I take medicine for it I have a panic attack and my body flushes the medicine out. Anxiety runs in my family and its very embarrassing. I keep thinking Im going to die but my parents and friends assure me I'm not going to. This is so horrible I want it to stop.

The back of my ankle hurts and is swollen, anyone tell me why?

So I have been on my feet a lot today, and I wore flip flops to work. Well when I got home I noticed that the back of my left foot hurt, like the achilles tendon area when I pointed my foot up or bent my knees. My right foot is fine. I then looked at my ankle and noticed on the outside of my foot between my tendon and my ankle bone it is swollen and puffy, not too bad but enough that you can tell. My tendon also still hurts and hurts when I rest it on the recliner or on my other leg. I do not remember bumping anything. I was on my feet a lot today at work because we were busy and I work in sales. I currently have an ice pack on it and will take an epsom salt bath a little later. Could this just be cause by being on my feet in flip flops? Or did I do something to my foot?

Last night I couldnt fall asleep so I got my laptop and sat in bed surfing the internet. Around 3:30 am my whole body suddenly started uncontrollably shaking as if i was cold, but i wasnt. My teeth were chattering and my pulse was racing. But it felt as if my heart was slowing down and I felt pressure on my chest. I didnt know what was going on and I felt sure I was going to die. My family has a history of anxiety disorders so I figured that was the cause, therefore I didnt phone an ambulance or anything. I just sat in bed and tried to reassure myself that I was okay while taking slow deep breaths, and eventually after what felt like the longest 30 minutes of my life, all at once the shaking and everything stopped. Was this a panic attack?

I'm sorry your son is going through this and I wish him a speedy recovery. The problem is, it's very hard to sue a hospital. The doctors were going by his symptoms and the fact he was just seen for dehydration. It will be hard to prove that they were negligent. I know as a parent you feel like they should have done more but if they can't run every test for every sick child. You can talk with a lawyer about it but I really don't think you have a case. I'm sorry.

Anyone Else Agree That The Ring Was Scary As F***?

I remember watching it when I was like 8. I used to looove horror movies and was generally never afraid of them... I remember back when I was like 4, my brother, dad, and I would have a nightly ritual of watching either The X Files (yea I know The X Files wasn't horror, we kinda just pretended it was so my brother wouldn't feel more like a wuss) or Chuckie but after watching the movie The Ring, all that horror-movie-loving ended. I had to get rid of the TV in my room, and because the movie The Ring and the story Bloody Mary were sort of similar, I had to get rid of my mirror too.... I even stopped watching horror movies for fear that there would be another one as equally frightening. Eventually though, I conquered my fear of little girls coming out of TVs and watched it again... but it took me like 6 years to build up the courage. So my question to you is this, were you just at traumatized as I was, or was I just too much of a pansy??? Oh and I'm back to my old horror-movie-loving self, just so you know.

I can't find my husband, what should I do?

Yesterday my husband fell down the stairs and I called 911 for an ambulance. Well the paramedics showed up and they took him to a hospital; I asked them if I could ride with him and they said it was against their policy and then I asked them what hospital they were taking him to and they didn't answer me. It's 9:13 PM right now and I feel like my world fell apart because he hasn't called and I haven't heard anything about him since yesterday morning. I've tried visiting every hospital in my area which there's only 2 in the city and they double checked to see if he was admitted and they said that he was not admitted into their hospital. I don't know what else to do, I'm afraid to go to the police because they think it might be some kind of sick joke or something because getting kidnapped by paramedics sounds extremely unrealistic so I don't know if they'll take me seriously or not. What should I do? I can't eat and I can't sleep I'm so worried. I'm thinking that I am going to go to the police tomorrow morning and see if they're any help.

Advice on Coping with a death?

i was out with my husband today on a day trip in the hills with a lot of other people we were all riding on motorbike's a guy hit a barrier and came off he seemed to be all right but the ambulance took over 50 mins to get to him in this time i watched him die it was so sad and i tried to give heart massage but just could not do it everyone tried to do there best but it is so much in my mind i feel so upset as it showed me nobody knows what is round the corner i am now worried about going out again on a bike but i don't want my husband to either any advice

Can u sue a hospital for negligence? my 21 yr old brother has went the ER numerous times in pain & breathing?

This hospital treated us so nasty. My brother has a history of anxiety attacks. He was taken to the ER by Ambulance and was in extreme pain, the hospital wont even bother looking at him and assume its an anxiety attack & kick him right back out to the waiting room & give him his discharge papers right away without the doctor even seeing him. The only time the looked at him was the first few times he came to the ER and never again after diagnosing him with anxiety attacks. The last time he was at the ER a 4-5 months ago, he was literally screaming in pain and nurses not knowing I was his sister standing outside his room were making fun of him and nasty remarks. They completely ignored him, he was screaming in pain and having shortness of breath. He overheard some of the staff making fun of him & asked me to take him home right away before anyone discharged him. Several weeks pass by, and his symptoms got a lot worth, any little food he would eat would put him in pain, shortness of breath, blood in his stools shortly after. He is anorexic now and the bleeding got worth that he could taste blood. I am currently a nursing student & know a few things about GI bleeds. The other day I smelled an Internal GI bleed, the same smell my teacher made me smell on a patient with GI bleed. I know what an internal Gl bleed smells like because my past patients. The thing the local ER we go to treat us like crab, the wont even look at my brother, the last few times the discharged a few minutes after his arrival and did not bother to check anything but say its an anxiety attack. I know anxiety attacks don't make you bleed from both ends of your body. He bleeding with every bowel movement and constantly having shortness of breath. eating the smallest amount of food will give him pain and breathing problems. My brother now is so traumatized by that hospital that he refuses to go to the ER, I was even so disgusted with the way they treated him that I felt a lot of stress for weeks. My brother is so young, & he is home 24/7 not able even eat or move much because of his pain. I am so afraid he will die on me because this hospital is so nasty & wont even take 5 minutes to listen, instead the make fun of you & talk behind your back like its no big deal. Is anything I can do about this? I am so mad and disgusted with the way they ignored my brother & now it looks like he has major health problem. I am planning to take him to a hospital that is over and hour away but he is so weak im not sure he can handle it. Since he has no income now he would qualify for medcaid

I really recommend talking to someone about your feelings, and I have always felt that the best place to go for free, unbiased and loving help is church. Whether your religious or not, most churches offer one-on-one counseling or group services that will assist you in moving on. Many communities offer various programs and services free of charge as well, but I have never personally been turned down from a much-needed hug and good conversation at any church that I have gone to. :)

Please help me. I have nothing to be depressed about at all. I have a wonderful girlfriend, a great group of friends, a secure life and a good future and past. But I am very depressed. What could be wrong with my Grandmother?

My grandma once randomly passed out on the kitchen floor (I'm not sure how long ago this was, she only mentioned it to me and my family recently.) About 2 days ago, she was saying that she wasn't feeling well and had a fever. When my aunt went over to her house to check on her (knowing she wasn't feeling well) she saw my grandma lying on the floor with blood all over the place. My aunt called the ambulance and they rushed her to the ER. From there, they found out that she had bleeding on the brain. (When she fell, she hit her head pretty badly.) The bleeding on the brain finally stopped on its own and the Dr. said that should absorb, so that was a good thing. Then my grandma passed out again when she was in the hospital. (For causes unknown.) She also seems very confused and is hallucinating. (Claiming she sees bugs on the ceiling in the hospital when the lights are turned off.) She took blood work and her blood counts are way off. She is 87 years old and has been healthy up until lately. What could be wrong with her?

You need to talk things out with a Psychologist. I was cold like that years ago, and my doctor got me out of it, and now I feel the appropriate feelings. I only was upset if an animal died or got hurt. If a person was hurt or died, it didn't phase me. My doctor helped me through all this.

Unfortunately, you don't get to wipe the slate completely clean, and those bad grades are going to follow you anywhere else that you apply. So no, you can't ever be a first time applicant again. The good news is, if you manage to turn things around in community college and can make a good case that you've fixed whatever went wrong on your first attempt, your improvement will count for a lot more than those early struggles.

so i was in a bike accident today and the police report determined the car was to blame.now i have only liability insurance but i have health insurance as well. im atm in the hospital and after like 17 xrays and 3 cat scans i was told my hand needs surgery.so i was wondering. would the other persons insurance pay for my medical bills or am i stuck with them? since i was taken in an ambulance the cops took the bike to an impound lot so i was wondering if i have to pay myself to get the bike back in this case?

How can i sweat less?

Im 12 years old, and i know its normal to sweat (pubertyyy) but i have this one shirt i looove to wear but it's tight and grey and when i wear it i get big stains under my arms. I wear deoderant with antipersperant, and it helps a little, but not all the way. It doesnt smell, only stains. I would LOOOVE to buy a diana f+, and I have the money to buy it. I don't, however, have enough for a 35mm back. So where can I buy/process 120 film.
